Monument historique - The protection in France known as Monument historique is a State procedure by which heritage is instituted for a building or a specific part of a building, a collection of buildings or an entire neighborhood, plus gardens, bridges, and other structures because of their their architectural and historical importance. It is used for both public and privately owned structures.
Valençay SOE Memorial - The Valençay SOE Memorial is a monument to the members of the Special Operations Executive F Section who lost their lives for the liberation of France. The memorial was unveiled in the town of Valençay in the Indre département of France on May 6, 1991, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the despatch of F Section's first agent to France.
Petit-Fils de France - Petit-Fils de France, meaning "Grandson of France", was the title given to the sons of Fils de France who were themselves the sons of the kings and dauphins of France. Their daughters would have the title Petit-Fille de France which means "Granddaughter of France.
Metropolitan France - Metropolitan France (French: la France métropolitaine, or just la Métropole) refers to the part of France in Europe, including Corsica, as opposed to the overseas departments and overseas territories, which, while integral parts of the French Republic, are regarded as Overseas France (la France d'outre-mer, or more colloquially les DOM-TOM). In the overseas departments, a person from Metropolitan France is often called a métro, short for métropolitain.
